UV ink curing issue for physical visual novel merch packaging
-
Hey everyone,
I’m working on small-batch physical merch for a visual novel project, including custom printed plastic pouches and small glass bottles for limited edition sets. I ran into some annoying curing problems with UV screen ink during our test printing.
The printer I’m collaborating with suggested switching to an LEDUVcuringlamp instead of the old mercury UV lamp they used before. The mercury lamp produces too much heat, which warps thin plastic pouches and leaves faint marks on glass surfaces. We want sharp, scratch-resistant artwork that stays intact for years, perfect for collector goods.
But I’m new to this hardware. I have a few questions:
- What wavelength of LEDUVcuringlamp should we pick for UV screen ink on both PET plastic film and glass?
- Is there any common mistake when adjusting light intensity that causes incomplete curing or ink peeling later?
- For low-volume indie merch runs, are there compact and reliable LEDUVcuringlamp setups that fit small printing lines?
If anyone here has experience ordering custom printed physical VN collectibles, I’d really appreciate your advice. I’m trying to avoid wasting budget on failed test prints. Thanks a lot!
